Smoking In Cars Will Soon Be Banned In Germany

smoking inside a car

Germany is embracing the idea of prohibiting smoking while driving (or riding) in cars. The idea came out because of the recent government-backed study that has exposed the habit to be quite a safety risk to fellow motorists and even to other passengers.

Sabine Baetzing, the German government’s commissioner for substance abuse, insisted that the ban should take place urgently. "We have to ask ourselves if traffic safety and health protection should not take precedence. Smoke fumes inside a car can be many times higher than in other areas," she said.

The use of mobile phones while driving in cars was banned already in this corner of the world. Now, Baetzing is working on the new law that prohibits smoking while driving. According to her, a law should be made to make it happen. Germany is perhaps the slowest country in Europe to ban smoking in public places and, in fact, restaurants and bars are still exempted from any smoking bans.

Prohibiting smoking in public was dismissed by Germany’s ruling coalition government headed by Chancellor Angela Merkel late last year despite the fact that smoking causes a raise in environmental effects 1,000 times the level in which the European Union mandates for the banning of cars within city areas.

We just wish that the German government would look both sides before implementing the new law. Meanwhile Chevrolet parts are all available online. You can visit your trusted website for more discounts and to avail the latest promo on these items.

Chevrolet released its second special-edition Vette. The fresh new car that was based on the Ron Fellows ALMS GT1 Championship Z06 is painted in Arctic white and accented with a racing-style fender stripe on its exterior. The special Z06 replicates a Fellows’ signature and it would also go on sale in the spring.

The Chev Corvette is offered in three types. The coupe has a removable roof panel also known as the targa while the Z06 has a fixed-roof coupe. The last type is the convertible. Both coupe and the convertible possess Chevrolet parts such as xenon headlamps, keyless entry and startup, a tire-pressure monitor, leather seating, a six-way power driver seat and dual-zone automatic climate control.

The Z06 is a coupe that posses a lightweight aluminum frame, wider wheels and tires, a more stiffly tuned suspension, better brakes and special sport seats.

College Student Designs Chevy Ad For The Super Bowl

Chevrolet

For grand events like the Super Bowl, most auto makers would like to become sponsors and at the same time bombard attendees with their ads and commercials.

And when they are lucky enough to be chosen to take the major sponsorships, these car makers would be making sure that the ads and commercials that would be shown off would actually be the best and be created by the very best. Hundreds of thousands of dollars would be spent on having the top ad makers do the designs.

But this seems not to be the case for the Super Bowl ad of Chevy.

You see, the ad for this event has been created by Katie Crabb. Crabb is 19 years old and is a college student and she has just created a 30-second commercial for Chevrolet. The ad focused on the company’s crossovers and all other auto parts used by these vehicles.

Good for Chevrolet. At least, they did not have to spend that much on asking professionals do the ads. After all, fresh ideas may actually come from these students.
