Australia Meets Up With Chevrolet Camaro

It is already March 28 and it means that the 2007 Adelaide Motor Show is already up and open. And that also means that the Chevrolet Camaro which is a sports coupe will already be set on display here.

Anyhow, the vehicle is going to be showcased at the mentioned auto show Down Under for this is the place where some of the most important parts of the whole vehicle has been done and created. In fact, the engineering of the vehicle as well as the completion of the design was made in Australia in GM’s facility found in Fishermans Bend, Melbourne. However, the vehicle would be continuing on to the North American market sometime during the first part of 2009.

Chevrolet Camaro concept vehicle

On the Chevrolet Camaro sports coupe, Tony Stolfo, the executive for GM’s global design, shares that the vehicle is going to be one very specific and concrete example of the kind of work that GM can do with regards to all its global vehicles. He even does continue, “Chevrolet Camaro’s engineering and design work is happening right here, right now, at Fishermans Bend. We are very excited about helping style the look and developing the thrilling drive performance that are hallmarks of this iconic nameplate. We also want to see whether Australian buyers would want a Chevrolet Camaro in local dealerships. This motor show is an excellent opportunity to put that appetite to the test.”

Also, Ed Welburn, the VP of GM’s global design, expresses, “The new Camaro will be almost identical to the concept, a thoroughly modern interpretation of the 1969 model, considered by many to be the best design of the car’s first generation.”

Design is not the only thing that the Chevrolet Camaro has. In fact, the company also boasts that the vehicle would be coming with two engine choices: a V6 and a V8. it would also be coming with its engine placed in the front and the vehicle would be made to be a rear wheel drive unit. These would be matched with an independent rear suspension.

“We intend to make the all-new Camaro relevant to younger buyers while retaining its appeal to current fans,” proffers Ed Peper who works as the general manager for the Chevrolet brand. He further does continue, “The beauty of the best Camaros is that they have always been beautiful to look at with performance that rivals expensive European GTs. Yet they were practical enough to drive every day and priced within the reach of many new-car buyers.”

Plenty of Muscle in The 1969 Baldwin Motion Camaro SuperSpeedster

All these years, this classic premium muscle car never ran out of steam and power. This may be a vintage car but some people would take the sacrifice just to get hold of this powerful vehicle. I mean, this ride is an automatic babe magnet and a head turner. Who needs a handsome face if you have the ’69 SuperSpeedster?

The two-seat coach-built Superspeedster comes second in the Baldwin Motion’s Wild Super Series list. Its Camaro Super Coupe debuted at 2005 SEMA convention in Las Vegas. Then guess what happened? It blew off the convention’s roof! Imagine how strong the impact of this car was.

The Chevrolet Camaro boasted of a 540 cubic inch Kinsler Cross Ram all-aluminum engine which is a big-block type that was quite capable of producing over 700 units of horsepower. This only shows that the Camaro SuperSpeedster’s enormous 540 cubic inch engine, fixed through a fuel injection by Kinsler Cross Ram, is that powerful. It only implies that the vehicle gives you a high chance that it is possible to slash your head off totally monster Chevy parts. Now that’s bloody!

Motion begins with a block made from aluminum with a 4.50-inch bore and a 4.50-inch bore 4.25-inch stroke to create 540 cubic inches. The bottom end displays an artificial crank that comes with the 10.0:1 forged pistons and Eagle 6.535 H-beam rods.

As what I observed from today’s standards, a performance car has to have a balance between acceleration, braking, steering and cornering. The SuperSpeedster’s steering is a changeable ratio, power-assisted rack and pinion setup. The brake system is up to the task by providing a safe but a road burning ride as well.

Massive. Powerful. Fast as a bullet. What else can I say? I’m all praises for this vehicle!

This redesigned vehicle also has been made so much so that it would be even more stable during those high speed chases during a hot pursuit. See, it has been lowered and it also has got springs and shocks that are stiffer than ever. Its performance parts have also been updated so much so that it fits all the changes that the vehicle has gone through.

    accident

A fatal double accident happened at 08:21 AM EST last Monday, March 5, 2007. The accident involved three vehicles namely a Ford Taurus, a GMC truck and a Chevrolet automobile. The police reported about the double fatal head-on crash overnight.

The accident begun when Mary Elizabeth Norton, who is 17 years old, accidentally side-swiped the Chevrolet car driven by Jacob Hilton who is 25 years old. Hilton was coming in the opposite direction on Peachtree Road, the police added. After the hitting incident, Norton crashed head-on into a GMC truck that was driven by 23 year old Lyndsey Laney.

The police sent them all to the Carolina Medical Center, the hospital nearby, and after a little later, both Norton and Laney died. The side-swiped Chevrolet driver did not received any life threatening injuries. Does this prove that Chevrolet parts are safer compared to other vehicles’ auto body parts? Go figure folks…
