Buying a Chevrolet Car

The General Motor Corporation is one of the best producers of cars in the US car market. It is even hailed as the best selling car maker of the Big Three. Of course, as quality calls for such, GMC cars are expensive - like Chevrolet which is one of its brands.

Finding a dealer may be easy if you are not looking for an honest car dealer. But if you are looking for a real time Chevrolet dealer, here is what you should do.

Find a salesperson. But before that, you should know what kind of salesperson is comfortable for you. Ask some of your friends and relatives if they know an honest sales person and check him out. Newspapers are also a good source of real time Chevrolet dealers.

Know the name and address of your chosen one and visit his place. Call for an appointment. Pay attention on how he manages to entertain you. Body language must be also taken into consideration. Make sure that he is interested in your preferences. If he is talking to you but is lacking eye contact, he may be up to something not that remarkable.

Ask him to show you the Chevrolet he is selling. Make sure he answers all your questions carefully and relatively. An honest person should not go for cheap alternatives after finding out that your preference and his type of cars do not meet.

Make use of an entrapment technique. An honest person will give you enough time to decide on the kind of Chevrolet car you are willing to purchase. However, if he is pushing you to buy his cars, be doubtful.

By means of communicating with the salesperson, you can evaluate his professionalism and communication skills. A professional dealer asks for your number if your car of choice is still not available. Another good characteristic of an honest salesman is his desire towards making you a life long customer.

Now you know how to prepare yourself when you are going to a dealer. Follow these tips and make sure to stay compact on your choices, not on the type of Chevrolet car the salesman is giving you.

Two-Mode Hybrid In 2008 Tahoe

Increasing gas prices made me fret. And I guess I am not alone in this predicament. So many individuals have been affected by the peaking prices and it’s no good.

What’s more, environmentalists are painstakingly reminding us of the escalating global warming issues. The effects are frightening! And they could be even more frightening in the coming days…

As such, efforts trying to circumvent these circumstances are very much appreciated. Lawmakers are working on raising mileage standards without sacrificing the environment. Researchers, on the other hand, are busy formulating alternatives to gasoline fuel. Alternative fuels not only save the environment - they also curb foreign all dependence of our nation.

Meanwhile, automakers’ role is to produce fuel efficient and environment-friendly vehicles. And so the showdown to produce the superlatives in a vehicle is on….

In many ways, the Chevy Tahoe hybrid, launched at the 2006 Detroit Show, was GM’s biggest. This is because that was time when a true hybrid was born. The hybrid system used by the vehicle was co-developed with BMW and DaimlerChrysler - and applied it to a full-size truck.

The two-mode system produces around 300 horsepower and consists of an electric motor/generator and a Vortec V-8 OHV engine, using electric power only, engine power only, or a combination thereof at low speeds and light loads. It’s the Toyota approach with two planetary gear seats and two electric motors mated to a gasoline engine. Unlike previous GM hybrids, the Tahoe hybrid will be able to accelerate with the gasoline engine shut off.

Two-mode hybrid engines combine the traditional gas powered engine with electric input and can operate in three modes, gas only, electric only and a combination. Sport utilities are to be found in every heavy traffic flow across the country, and operating on electric power as a full hybrid with the low speed, stop and go situations commuters experience every day, major fuel economies can be delivered as well as reducing pollution caused by these gas guzzling beasts, says Car Junky.

When running the 300 volt electric powers the automobile until you reach 20 mph and then the gas engine kicks and you run on both systems, reduce the speed back below the 20mph and you hear the changeover as you revert to electric power only. The Chevrolet Tahoe ignition coil was enhanced to blend with the purpose.

The Chevrolet Tahoe full-size sport utility will be joined shortly thereafter by the GMC Yukon hybrid. These vehicles will feature what GM calls the "world’s first two-mode hybrid system." They will use V-8 gasoline engines combined with electric motors, says AZ Central.

In the Tahoe/Yukon, there will be separate hybrid modes for city driving and for highway cruising, the company added. “Overall fuel savings will be about 25 percent over a base V-8 equipped Tahoe or Yukon. The technology will be extended later to the Cadillac Escalade, which is similar in construction to the Tahoe and Yukon.”

Staying Safely While Stranded

We can never get away with being stranded sometimes, right? Even the most quality-conscious automakers like those that create Chevrolet cars catch difficulties and mechanical problems from time to time as well. You have to anticipate incidents like this anyway but make sure you are safe while you are stranded. Now how are you going to be safe? Follow the simple tips below and you can surely go home alive and very safe.

Do not panic. Never show a panic maneuver but pull your car on the road shoulder as much as possible. This will avoid your car from being hit by other vehicles on the road.

Put the emergency blinkers or flashers on the road if you can’t move your car. From the front and the rear part of your car, put a caution sign. This will tell the drivers of the vehicles on the raod to slow down because there is a problem.

If you have your mobile phone with you, call for help. Or if not, you can ask help from the reliable emergency group in the area. Tell them your exact location and give a landmark for them to identify the area. Remember not to trust any people who pass by.

Reflectors and flares can also help you this time. This will alert passing motorists to be careful because you have a troubled car.

If you finally made a call, stay inside your car, lock the doors and shut the windows down. Wait inside the car until rescue arrives. Towing services are so much busy so you have to anticipate a period of time of waiting. Amuse yourself but stay alert. Don’t open your window or doors to strangers.

Roll your window down slightly every time a vehicle stops. It may be the police officers or the team you asked for help. Inform them that you already notified the police or the towing company. Never open you door to anybody especially if the strangers appear to be intoxicated or on drugs or alcohol.

You should never ever go out of the car until the authorities arrives.

These are the simple things you need to do to stay safe while stranded. These tips are simple but remember to follow the directions carefully to avoid getting hurt or killed on the road.

Bumblebee And The Transformers: Phenomenal!

7-4-7… The time when the Earth trembled, a new mark is made in history, mysteries unfolded, a blockbuster, a phenomenon… The day of the Transformers! Thousands of cinemas were jam-packed as the premiere of the Transformers movie took place last week…July 7, 2007!

The most anticipated blockbuster of the year rocked the world during the opening day, earning millions of dollars on its first day. No doubt this movie is expected to be a certified box office hit. On the day of the premiere, everybody seem to forget everything around them! The desire to witness this movie drove people to line up on cinemas rather doing some important things on that day. I myself forget about my work that day because I was suppose to fix my Subaru fan clutch and Subaru struts before going to the office. But it was all worth it! To be one of the million fans of the Transformers who have first seen the movie is a priceless experience! Its way too different when you get to see it first, especially during the opening day! Sounds crazy but you can’t afford to miss the movie of the century! The greatest stuffs that made us more fascinated about the movie are the cars used as the alternate of the Autobots. Speaking of the Autobots, at some part of the splendid movie, the story revolved on a Chevy car. It’s the 2009 and 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Concept car which is the alternate of one of the main characters called Bumblebee! Of all the robots, he was my favorite, or should I say everyone’s favorite! The Chevy Camaro, together with its relatives from the GM family namely the Pontiac Solstice, GMC Topkick pickup and the H2 HUMMER made the movie more electrifying! If you haven’t watched the movie yet, it’s not too late for you because I think all cinemas have extended its showing. So better be there!

A few years from now, this movie will be remembered as one of the most marvelous movies of all times! Thanks to Bumblebee and friends!

Chevrolet on a Car Show

As I work on an article about the Mercedes Benz fuel tank cap and the Mercedes Benz glow plug, I came across this news about a talent show that will feature the Chevy Volt.

The innovative Chevrolet Volt will make an outward show. It’s not the first appearance of this model since we’ve seen movies and music videos that featured the Chevrolet Volt. But this one is different.

The vehicle would be part of the American Idol talent show and will give the opportunity for families to get their auto child safety seat checked to guarantee that it is installed properly. The General Motors Corp. Lordstown Complex subsequent yearly Community Car & Bike Show assures all that and more fun things would be experienced throughout the event’s run starting from 9 a .m. to 5 p.m. this Saturday at the extensive auto making compound.

Last 2006, the show attracted almost 800 vehicles and more than 10,000 viewers. It was documented by the Cruisin’ Times magazine as one of the peak 10 nonprofit car shows in different city states namely Michigan, Ohio, New York, and Pennsylvania.

According to Tom Mock, the Lordstown spokesman, ‘Wwe want to start celebrating the area’s automotive heritage. It’s strong and getting stronger.”

The said show will feature the Chevy Volt model car that’s put up on the chassis made for the Chevrolet Cobalt at the Lordstown Complex. The vehicle can move 40 miles on an electrical charge prior to using any gasoline, and it is able to be charged all night at a domestic plug.

All along with the Tony Stewart No. 20 Chevrolet NASCAR racer are a number of gasoline-ethanol powered cars and they will also be displayed on the show.

President Jim Graham of the United Auto Workers Local 1112 requested the whole population to come to the show saying that the objective is to draw extra people to reach about 10,000 for this year.

The family activities will comprise child auto seat safety test, all along with other sports competition and prizes. And what’s this professional boxing championship challenger Kelly Pavlik planning to do? Oh, he is going to be an evaluator at the American Idol talent show.

The proceeds from Chinese auctions, the show’s vehicle entry fees, and other dealings will set out to help the Rich Center for Autism and the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northeast Ohio.

Julie Scarsella, the Make-A-Wish Regional Manager, said that "a voluntary family is listed to be present at to acquire its wish granted for a kid with a life frightening illness, adding up the GM staff are incredible.’’
